In This House...

We are real, we make mistakes, we say we're sorry, we give second chances, we fall in love, we grow in love, we have fun, we give hugs, we forgive, we sacrifice, we hurt for each other, we love.

Climbing a steep gray rough side, dirt covering my bare feet, wind rushing through my hair as the water sounds of a beating stream. I make my way up the rough side, trekking over the wood bridges, lightly tip toeing, carful to not fall down the flushing water. My sister's voice of muttered cheer echoes in my ear- almost there. The end is in our sites as my sister zooms up behind me, tickles the sides of my stomach, and laughs with the "older sister laugh" (care filled, but with a tinge of mockery as she is still older... bigger... and well just plain faster than I). She waits for me at the end of the line as I can feel my heart race as I know what is ahead. I reach for her hand and grasp it. We both turn around and look down the rapids in the water as they bang against the sides of the gray roughage. Our eyes both filled with desire and joy. We jump in the water and start sailing down the rushing waves. I can fill the water surging over my legs and I slip and slide, barley able to keep my head above water. The steep, most glorified, turn approaches. Bang, swish, roar, my sister and I hit the corner, feeding up the side, screaming with adrenaline and pure happiness. We hit the end of the line. We stand up, mud steaming down our legs and turn around, looking back up the rough, gray, simple farm ditch that we spent the funnest time sliding down. Moments like these filled my child hood. Its the perspective of loving what you have and the company that can change a life. My sister and I are the closest of friends to this day. We played, we laughed, we were there for each other- both giving love. 

I can remember sitting at the table, leaning over the chair, peeking in the kitchen as my sweet, loving mom slaved over the stove making the most scrumptious smelling meal as my tummy grumbled - Mac and Cheese (with the occasion tomato). As tasty and delicious her meals are, her arms and embrace is positively my favorite. Isn't it crazy how the most envied comfort is no where close to the comfort of your mother's arms? My moms arms are so cozy and comforting that no matter what your going through you can curl up in them, and your day becomes automatically that little dream that continually plays in your mind. Not to mention her laugh; her nose curls up, face blooms, and you just sit, staring and wondering when a snort is going to pop out (I still watch, but no snort has made it out yet). She watches me, she mothers me, she gave her world for mine- she loves. 

As cars consume my mind in many ways, I suppose it my dad that I have to thank. He continually slaved over work, providing, and then to come home and hunch over a single engine for the next 3 hours so we could drive that weekend. He taught me the possibilities to loving a sport such as I have learned to do. He encouraged me so much that I was not beat down when discourage clouded over. He taught me to push hard and to strive for the impossible. I never tell my dad thank you enough for the part he's had in molding me to be who I am today. Without racing, I would not be who I am today. Without the training I've had, I would not be the same today. Without my dad, I would not be the same today. - I love.

As my family and I are very strong together, we still have our moments. We are real. We have disagreements, but we have been taught that a disagreement is not worth loosing a love. I also imagine the grace my family shells out has been what has given me the knowledge to knowing that their love is not tangent on a single act in life, but rather the peace and the entangled emotions in my heart I can't deny is the love. We've all fallen in love with others, also had broken hearts, but no matter what, our love always stays the same. We laugh, we play games, we sing, dance, we are a part of each other's lives. We feel pain when the other is down. We give up so much to see the smile on their face one more time. We aren't perfect, we aren't the richest, we do not have the most wisdom and understanding as many others on this land, but we love. Love holds us together. Love conquers all. Love has shaped us to be who we are today. We love together because, so humbly, we've all been taught a time before an even greater love.
