By Mianna Wick ![]() Life as a race car driver can make it hard at times to keep beauty as a self description. Jumping to the next state after the other, how do you balance the state of beauty? Surly not by drenching a 5'4" petite body with black grease and blue race fuel, but then again, is that avoidable strapped into a 150mph car thats covered in it? It is important to keep those tasseled, circular curls in tact while slipping a sweat drenched, tight, day-glow orange helmet on and off 20 times a day. The question is how to have the best of both. During the week keeping your skin exfoliated, clean, and moisturized is important so you don't have foundation sliding down your face in the middle of on pit pictures and interviews. It's time to put to practice that "natural" make-up look. Avoiding the foundation, its always good to keep your eyes bright and focused. Adding a bit of light skin tone cream to the inside corner of your eye, not forgetting a bit of contrast with a thin layer of water-proof liner and mascara. Be sure your brows are plucked and shaped, before you roll a glistening layer of Petroleum Jelly to your lips keeping them moist and healthy as you run out the door. On to that tasseled, luscious curl. Use a good shampoo and conditioner that smells great and mixes well with your perfume and deodorant. This way, your great smelling shampoo will be highlighted as your sweat starts to dampen your hair instead of those unwanted stingy smells. After your evening shower, french braid your hair in 3-4 separate braids (depending on the thickness of your hair), pulling the strands of hair out of the braid a bit to loosen the braid, and let dry over night. In the morning your hair should be wavy with a good amount of volume. Nows the time to add a few squirts of volume enhanced hair product, along with a good heat protector. Take the few stands that didn't take the braid very well and use your straightening iron to make a tight ringlet. Using your straightener, crimp the ends of your hair in a forty-five degree angle to give your ends some dimension. Lastly, squeeze the hair right next to your skull in a ninety degree hold, and run your hands vigorously through your hair as you hair spray with a firm hold spray. There are few of my beauty tricks to make those long lasting race days look, well, a bit less fatiguing. Don't forget to paste on that stress fighting deodorant, and a few sprits of body mist throughout the day. Speed to the finish line with flying hair and fierce eyes that no one could miss. |
